Factor grant recipient Marty Kolls emerges onto the Canadian music scene with a force.  Her sound is unique, accompanying herself on the ukulele and piano, with music that ranges from soft sing able melodies to more edgy off beat rhythms. After six years of working as a stage and jazz performer in Asia, Marty returned home in 2006 to launch her solo music, and has found great reception from the Canadian music scene.

A powerhouse in the music community, Marty’s talents are apparent not only from her ability to play and arrange many instruments, but in her sincere and solid songwriting. Always a sucker for the ‘old school’, Marty continues to create arrangements with band instruments in mind. Her most recent writings include trombone and trumpet, and incorporate a marching drum sound; having always been known for marching to her own beat.
